for the Future
FARMINGTON SCHOOL BOARD
"I am running for School Board to implement policies that focus on the basic foundational skills of each student’s education, that maximize teachers' instructional time, promote parent engagement and to approve fiscally responsible, transparent and accountable allocation of the budget.”
Values and Vision
I grew up in 4-H where the motto was “To Make the Best Better.” So when I think about being a member of the Farmington School Board, I am eager to adopt the same mindset: Let’s make our best Farmington School District even better.
We have great teachers, staff and administration in the Farmington School District. Let’s empower them to focus on the foundational skills: reading, writing and math.
Alongside excellent instruction, an engaged parent is a child’s great contributor to success, so we should encourage parents to ask questions, advocate for their child, view curriculum and material and allow parents a voice.
We must approve a fiscally responsible budget while being transparent and accountable. As we continue to navigate financial challenges, let’s make sure that we are directing funds toward basic instructional education while remembering the goal is a population ready to enter the workforce and higher education.
